Day 1 of the 2009 NFL Draft has come and gone and the Dallas Cowboys have not added anyone new to their roster.
The Cowboys first round pick was traded away to the Detroit Lions along with their third and sixth round picks for wide receiver Roy Williams last October.
Dallas did have a second round pick scheduled for the 51st pick of Day 1 of the draft, but they chose to trade that pick away to the Buffalo Bills for their third and fourth round picks on Day 2 of the draft.
This draft day trade gives the Cowboys a total of 12 picks in Day 2. They will start the day off with the 5th and 11th picks of the third round. Then they will have 3 fourth round picks, 3 fifth round picks, 2 sixth and 2 seventh round picks.
So, it will be a busy day for Jerry Jones and his staff. I’m sure they will be wheeling and dealing again. Jerry just can’t stand to stand pat and I don’t see how they could come up with 12 players to draft, but who knows!
